"Trouvez-vous normal qu’on vous fait venir à Paris, passer les tests, être reçu aux tests et un an plus tard après plusieurs mails sans réponse de leur part on reçoit un mail nous précisant qu’il n’y a pas de poste disponible. Il est précisé en plus que la validation de notre test est valable un an et par conséquent si on est toujours intéressé il faut tout recommencer. Merci SNCF.AucunTout"

"Appalling service from nice to Monaco and back again! The SNCF should be disgusted with themselves for crowding in as many people as possible on to a train when there is a pandemic!! Sooooooo many people not wearing masks, not wearing them correctly and ZERO personnel at SNCF controlling the trains. I complained to a woman at SNCF office in Monaco she just shrugged her shoulders at me, complained to another person in Nice SNCF who could not careless? Utterly appalling."

"Business trip to Paris Cancelled due to train strike, I filled the form out for a refund and they gave me a typical french credit note....The French hate refunds, bugger the customer is SNCF attitude. Tried to phone have spent two hours in total I never get through, they tell you that they are so busy! "Hi this is an update on my attempts to obtain Refund from SNCF, still trying as of the 25th January. Have managed to get a voucher for part of the journey, but the rest of the journey was completed by me according to their website. Non of the journey took place as there were no trains. I do not want vouchers, I want a full cash refund as I will not be using SNCF again, Yesterday customer service advisor told me they did not have Email address for customer complaints, and the telephone number they gave was extremely busy owing to very high demand, you couldn’t make it up, have asked to be put in touch with management but that has fallen on deaf ears still going round in circles after many more Emails and form filling in. A simple request for a Refund has turned into an absolute nightmare."

"In july 2019 I wanted to take the train in Paris st Lazare to Carentan, to visit my mother and soak up some D-day history. The first train I was supposed to take around 5 never left due to "un incendie". The train an hour later left 20min too late, understandable if you just had a fire in the previous one. Wich quickly went up to over an hour during the journey. In Lison the train remained in the station for around one hour, without any explanation. Out of pure despair, since it was around 22 o clock I arranged my own way to the final destination. When filing a complaint to receive some of my money back, I learned of their frankly ridiculous "remboursement" rules. After a 2 hour delay you are entitled to 50% of your ticket price. By some amazing coincidence which I can only presume was due to the interventen of Harry Potters French cousin, my train apparently arrived in Carentan with 113 min of delay. Which only gives me 25% of the original ticket price (1-2hours). Imagine my joy when after learning this, the o so helpful customer service people also told me that nothing under €4 is compensated. Which leaves me with nothing for a two hour delay and a cancelled train. So SNCF I would rather not use your service again, going to Carentan by broom or poney would even be more appealing. I feel sorry for the French people who have no choice but to use this service."

"SNCF has the WORST customer service EVER!!! Not helpful at all!!! I booked 2 TGV tickets from Paris to Tours and 2 bus Tickest from Trous to Paris through their website, I received a cancellation email after the money was already withdrawn from my account!!! After several emails and several attempts to contact them, NO cooperation AT ALL from their side although I have proof!!! This is called a theft!!! SHAME on them!!!"

"I had a terrible experience travelling with SNCF when I was on holiday in France in June. Their staff had downed tools and walked out on a super self-indulgent 3 month long strike. Officially, the strike was supposed to be 2 days out of 5, but the reality on the ground was that the trains were seriously disrupted 5 days out of 5 with SNCF announcing that this was due to the national strike. On the day I arrived it took over 4 hours for me just to cross Paris from one side to the other. Even when they aren't on strike the railway workers' attitude to their customers positively stinks. Twice I have got trapped between two sets of ticket barriers when my ticket having let me through the first barrier mysteriously failed on the second. I went in search of help from the SNCF agents on duty. On the first occasion the railway worker point black refused to help saying that it was not his job to deal with issues like that and even refused to call for assistance from one of his colleagues. On the second occasion the SNCF agent gleefully informed me that his shift had just finished and that he would see me tomorrow. I sincerely believe that he meant it. On both occasions, I eventually managed to extract myself from the situation, but my escape was no thanks to SNCF or their staff. I have now reached the stage whereby I am no longer prepared to pay the wages of people who are unwilling to do their job and so not only won't be travelling with SNCF again, but I won't return to France either."

"I travel to Barcelona regularly. I was delayed 5 hours once, but offered a paltry €30 voucher in compensation. How mean is that? The counter service, especially at Barcelona Sants, is non existent. You can't even chose a seat, just take what you are given. I'm sorry, but I do not wish to sit on a table for four, with 3 complete strangers, for 6 and a half hours!! They won't even bother to tell you your seat number before paying, making it impossible to change it without paying more money. The staff can be very rude and offhand. This is unacceptable. Come on SNCF, this is the 21st century. Surely it is not impossible to offer a seating plan. They are available online. Surely customers should have some choice where they sit and not be treated like cattle. They are paying your salaries after all. Eurostar can do it, why not you?"
